Physiotherapist

Richmond Heath is the founder of TRE Australia and a pioneer in somatic stress recovery. His journey into this work began unexpectedly during a silent meditation retreat when his body began moving spontaneously, easing chronic pain he had carried for years. This experience led him to question what he had learned in his physiotherapy and mental health training, eventually discovering TRE as a framework that bridges ancient wisdom about spontaneous movement with modern neuroscience.

Richmond’s personal experience with high-functioning anxiety and the pressure to “hold it together” informs his approach, particularly his work with men who find traditional talk therapy uncomfortable or inaccessible. He advocates for a different model of masculinity—one that values embodied presence and connection over silent endurance.

Through TRE Australia, Richmond has spent over a decade teaching individuals, athletes, and wellness professionals how to access the body’s innate ability to release stress and trauma through this natural but often-suppressed reflex.
